We are developing the medical technology of tomorrow.


In interdisciplinary teams from clinic, industry and science, we research and develop solutions and technologies for image-guided minimally invasive medicine.
Our aim are innovative, patient-friendly, high-quality and specifically required diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for diseases in oncology, neurology and cardiology. To this end, clinicians define the need and interdisciplinary teams research and develop customised solutions that are tested and integrated into patient treatment.
Our vision is to improve healthcare of today and tomorrow as a research and innovation centre for image-based medicine.

The public-private partnership is formed by Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, Siemens Healthineers AG and the STIMULATE Association with over 40 members from the medical technology industry and science.

Project Start

Launch of the PhotonLAB project: New medical technology incubator for photon-counting computed tomography at the Research Campus

A new ego. incubator, PhotonLAB, has been launched at the Research Campus STIMULATE at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as part of the ego.-Incubator funding initiative, the project creates a unique development and testing facility for photon-counting computed tomography (PC-CT).

The ‘Gender Data Gap in Medicine and Research’ summer school, taking place from 28 September to 2 October 2026 at the Research Campus STIMULATE in Magdeburg, equips researchers with methodological skills for gender-sensitive vascular research, focusing on data gaps, AI-supported bias analysis and personalised therapeutic approaches.
